It is with great sadness that we report the sudden death of GTCC Trustee Andrew Hodges on Tuesday 12 April 2022, age 73. Andrew was highly respected in the local community, being appointed a Guildford Honorary Freeman after representing Christchurch ward for 35 years as a local Councillor. For GTCC, in addition to serving as a Trustee, Andrew was a friend, a volunteer, a long serving Street Angel and an active supporter of the Charity. He will be sorely missed. Andrew was also involved in a wide range of other local organisations including Christ Church Guildford, Guildford Cathedral and Guildford Book Festival. Chris Britton, Chair of Trustees said “Andrew was a great ambassador for GTCC, his local knowledge, calm nature and compassion for those in need were highly valued by all who knew him. His very sudden death has denied our community of a faithful and wise friend. May he rest in peace and rise in glory”. Andrew’s funeral will take place at Guildford Cathedral, date to be announced.
