On the 21 May 2020 we were delighted to hear that we were finalist in the Surrey and Hants BizAwards. We had been nominated in the category ‘Charity/Social Enterprise of the Year 2020. Well you can imagine our surprise and delight to find out that we had actually won the prestigious award. Thanks you Surrey and Hants BizAwards and Eagle radio for making this happen and celebrating the ongoing contribution our Angels are making week in and week out in Guildford.

Noelle Coe, Town Chaplain said  “In these challenging times we are absolutely overjoyed to be recognised by winning the prestigious Eagle Radio BizAward’s Social Enterprize of the Year 2020.  Our team of volunteer Street Angels work tirelessly to support anyone who becomes vulnerable on our streets late at night, and they have earnt the respect and affection of all those involved in the town’s  vibrant night-time economy.  During lockdown, for the first time in our 12 year of operation, our Angels have hung up their wings and are supporting others in different ways, including caring for the isolated with our befriending project, Community Angels.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those whose livelihoods are dependent upon a thriving town centre, especially those in  the hospitality and retail sectors.  We are looking forward to being back on the streets soon, supporting the homeless, providing a calming and caring presence where it is most needed, which is all part of helping the wider community gain confidence as normality is gradually restored.  Thank you Eagle Radio for your support!!
