Summer Street Concert

If you were in Guildford High Street on 21 July you would have had a big treat with the joyful sound of music and the chance to meet a real Angel!

GuildfordVox Community Choir were in full voice performing two pop up concerts for visitors to the town centre, kindly helping raise funds for Guildford Street Angels.

Rev Noelle Coe, Town Chaplain said “We were absolutely delighted that GuildfordVox Community Choir chose to sing for visitors to our town.  Our fabulous  Street Angels are normally only out on the streets serving those in need late at night so to be invited to be part of such a lovely day time event is quite a treat! “

GuildfordVox Community Choir prepared for the concert at their weekly Monday evening rehearsals at Holy Trinity Church.  Their repertoire consisted of a varied programme of contemporary and traditional songs from the British Isles and around the world.

Anna Tabbush, who founded the choir in 2005 said “Singing in a choir is an uplifting experience. It’s good for your health and boosts your confidence.  GuildfordVox has a growing and enthusiastic membership; we do not audition, and new members are always welcome.  We really enjoyed this opportunity to sing on familiar territory, so close to where we regularly rehearse, raising funds for a local charity that does so much valuable work in our community”

The Street Collection raised a fabulous £357.20.  Our next street collection is booked for Saturday 7 December, please get in touch if you would like to help!
